Silver Taps

I don't know if any of you would be interested, but Silver Taps is being held next Tuesday at 10:30 in front of the Academic Building at A&M.

Silver Taps is an A&M tradition to honor the memory of recently deceased Aggies, one of whom is Leslie Ann Snell.

Resolution of my computer stuff

Yesterday, I went back up to the ODP where they kindly let me use their computers to check out my drive to see if it would work at all. It refused to do anything besides spin up, so I was advised to see if it might have a warranty of its own that might be in effect.

Well, after being redirected and redirected and redirected (over both web and phone; I was led back and forth between IBM and Hitachi about three times), I got a response from a tech person saying that it didn't have a warranty of its own.

So, I just purchased a new, 40 GB (as opposed to my old 20), higher speed drive that will hopefully last a lot longer. With luck, everything should be peachy in just a few days.

Oh, and I have a nice, dandy new paperweight. It's my old hard drive, if you couldn't figure it out. Yeah. That's what I thought.

A little university rivalry...

To appease the god of Oversensitivity:

This is all meant in good fun. I honestly do not believe that all UT-goers...ahem...t.u.-goers are this stupid.

And no, I don't plan on suing anybody for real.
There were three Longhorns huddled around each other at a local bar.  All of a sudden, they jumped up and yelled, "Yeah, 45! 45!"  The bartender goes down to them and asks, "45?  What are you guys so excited about?"  One of the Longhorns speaks up, "We just finished a jigsaw puzzle.  The box said 2 to 3 years and we did it in 45 days!"
Ta-da! Typical joke, but with a new, improved, tangy twist!

Update from me

Well, I have my computer mostly fixed (it's running off an external hard drive and the internal one is out). My classes are going pretty well. Um, that is all.

This is so incredibly cool

...and so incredibly weird. You will need a high-speed connection to view it properly.

Classes

First, my computer's hard drive got absolutely hosed last night. I don't know if I'll be able to recover any data, but thankfully, I imaged the entire drive last Sunday, so that means that (if I get the computer to start up properly off a different disk) that I will have lost merely one week's worth of goof-off. Thankfully, I didn't do much in that time.

Next, I just went to NUEN 201. It looks like it's going to be a pretty cool class. Our professor let us out way early and says he doesn't plan on making us take a final in there, because no one's grade is ever the better for it. Also, it looks like we're not going to be doing the whole book (phew!). Relativity I and II are only going to get 50 minutes each - on the last two days of classes. Whenever we get an out-of-class assignment, he gives us the day off too.\]

Well, MATH 253 with Dr. Yasskin is coming up soon. Ta-ta!

To the Lady Laurel

Is there a way to edit my digital camera's movies in iMovie? They come in Quicktime AVI format.

First, if you haven't already, download iMovie 3. If you can't drag it in, you should try downloading and installing both DivX and 3ivX.

If that doesn't work, just call, email, or whatever.
