Absoultely hilarious advertisement
I saw this in a TIME magazine two years ago, and finally decided to root up a copy off the internet (I have a wrinkled, nasty copy). here it is. The leprechaun's face isn't at a high enough resolution in my opinion, but it's funny nonetheless.
I'm proud of myself
I created/modified the script from the old comment system so that the old comment link will only show up if there is an old comment. Yay for me! It blends in really nicely too. here is an example of a page that has this.

Ultimate!
I was looking over the schedule of activities that we at Lechner (the honors dorm) will do the week before school starts. On Friday the 29th at 3:00-4:00 we have an ultimate frisbee match between our dorm (Lechner) and another dorm (Clements). I thought since Felix might be bored (he doesn't leave until later) he might play ultimate with me and Raymond and the other folks at Lechner. Just a thought.
This is weird, and so am I
Some search by some Canadian led me to another picture of someone sleeping with his eyes open. There are apparently few pictures of this. Here it is.
Nifty!
We got a visit from someone at srs.gov searching for wackenhut savannah river.
Maybe no one appreciates these things like I do.
Oh well.

For those of you who will still be in College Station Saturday evening (August 23, 2003), you might want to take a look-see at this.

Books
Well, I just got my books for most of my classes (my regular engineering books weren't available). Thanks to my mom being a lecturer, I have a 15% discount on all books, which is nice. The most interesting book I got is the one for Nuclear Engineering 201. It's "Modern Physics" by Tipler and Llewellyn. The first chapters are "Relativity I," "Relativity II," and "Quantization of Charge, Light, and Energy." It continues through "The Schrödinger Equation" (chapter 6), "Nuclear Physics" (chapter 11), and "Particle Physics" (chapter 13). It looks like I'll be having one fun semester. But seriously, this book excites me. I'm looking forward to actually (gasp!) learning stuff. High schoolers, you are just going to have to wait.
Whew
I just completely overhauled the black smokers! extra site. Now each image, etc. has its own page. That means that I can link directly to stuff. For example, here is the crazy picture of Adam.
My hands are tired of typing HTML code. I want to go to bed and wake up laughing at the poor fools who still have to go to high school.

Issues, issues
Well, apparently putting the search terms on a separate page didn't stop the Googlers from mistakenly thinking our blog had anything useful on it. :-) So, I am wondering if I should separate the sidebar on the Extra site into separate pages of sorts: one page for the searches, a page for the crazy pictures, etc.
