How sad! I was randomly testing google, and I put in lil_beansprout (Laurel's web site name thing). The second link linked to a discussion board about hedgehog owners with the following message posted by Laurel:

Hi there,

My two-and-a-half year old hedgie Agnes died Thursday. I know hedgehogs are supposed to live much longer than that, and I was wondering if anyone can help me try to figure out why Agnes died... it'll just make me feel a little better.

For two weeks or so before her death, she had been sleeping non-stop and she never really woke up. She would move around her cage, but it was a slow, lumbering, swaying walk, and she never opened her eyes. We figured it was some sort of hedgie-hibernation that we didn't know about... and then one day I went to make sure she was still breathing and she wasn't.

Does this sound familiar to anyone here? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Losing a hedgie is so hard! -Laurel
Felix, before you drop stuff off for Laurel, I want to give you a CD of stuff (my gov't election video, etc.) to give to her. So wait until I see you!

Hey, I made a new poll in celebration of our graduating! The results of the last poll are completely, absolutely meaningless thanks to ... (drumroll) ... FELIX!

What about Ewan McGregor?

What about him? (5, 13%)
Hotness! (11, 29%)
He was the least bad actor in Star Wars Ep. I and II. (1, 3%)
The Ugly One!! (8, 21%)
Arrowed!! (13, 34%)

Oh, by the way, if you think of any more responses to add to our latest poll, just post a comment, and I'll add it.
Hey, I am now officially post-high school! Yay! I didn't see any alumni there. :-( Danny Furuta wasn't even playing in the orchestra for some odd reason or another. Well, it was nice to have the month-long post-AP phase-out (three hyphenated two-word groups in a row!) of school in May, so it wasn't too much of a shock to rotate my tassel, etc.

Well, it sure wasn't very nice of Felix, Adam, especially Michael, etc. not to notify me that they planned to pull their all-nighter tonight. This is just possibly the worst night this whole summer for it. Quite ridiculous. My dad is coming back from a month-long trip in Thailand for the military tomorrow, AND my grandparents drove here from Florida, AND my other grandfather came down here (which is unusual), AND more likely than not there will be a bunch of crazies out tonight. Well, I hope you plan another later and tell me about it more than 4 hours in advance.
Yay, graduation ceremonies will start in 2 hours! Arrgh, there are too many people graduating! What, like 478 or so was the number on my most recent transcript. Maybe we should fail the lower half to speed things up. But then our top x percent number will double. Hrmm. Well, be sure to meet us down on the floor after it's all over. I expect a few of the CHS alumni will show up too.

Be sure to yell when our names get called!

I was just randomly thinking about how the words "balrog" (the shadow-and-flame beast from LotR) and "blog" (weblog, of course) looked very similar. Check it out:

balrog
b-l-og

balrog blog blog balrog balrog blog balrog blog

uncanny...
We finished graduation practice. Felix really didn't miss out on much, except he sits in the chair right in front of me, so I can kick him at random just for fun. :-) Also, when Mrs. Davis found out that Ruvin isn't doing graduation at all, she said, "That dork!" It was funny, kind of. And I don't have to worry about Ruvin seeing this, because he never, ever visits our blog!

Oh, by the way, a google search for Seth Felix Meredith Adam brings up our blog as number 1!
Hey, we are now on google's and yahoo's search engines! The easiest way to find our site is by having "black smokers" "science bowl" as the query, but "black smokers" "blog" works almost as well.
Hmm... I think Felix was talking about dreams earlier. I had kind of an oddly funny dream last night...err...this morning. The first event that I can remember is that my team sports class was assembled in the gym, and for some random reason (I don't remember) the coach conducted some random arms test, and like every single kid in there had a gun hidden on him. Then I think our coach took all the guns and fined each of them $100. Then I remember he did another gun check later on, and they all still had guns.

The next thing I know is that I'm making a vial of trinitrotoluene by pouring concentrated nitric acid onto a cupcake. Seriously. I kinda get some, I think; it's a sloppy gray, kind of shiny highly viscous liquid. Next, I'm on the way back to the locker room. There are a bunch of fume hoods along the walls for some reason, so I stick a spherical wad of the stuff into a fume hood and light it with a lighter. It starts smoking, and the smoke looks like the sulfurous smoke that comes from sub-bituminous (well, the high sulfur content) coal. The other kids are like, "Sulfur dioxide!" and I turn on the vent in the fume hood, and the smoke gets sucked up through the fume hood. I think that was just about it. Pretty odd, huh?

Ooh... reality twist! I moved the sidebar to the right for two reasons. Reason one: I wanted to mess with your minds. Reason two: now you don't have to wait for the counter and poll to load from the remote servers before you see the main content. In other words, the loading appears much faster.

Another thing. Who keeps voting for "Arrowed!!" and "Hotness!"? I mean, I know Felix did Arrowed once and Laurel and Debbie each likely did Hotness... but, are you guys voting multiple times, or what?

Whoops... the story begins as I was wondering if Geocities let people have the geocities.com/whatever for free because Laurel's does. I got kind of bored, and looked at their domain name lookup. I wanted to see if blacksmokers.com was taken. Well, the .com was. I wanted to see what the heck would be at one blacksmokers.com. Well, to put it delicately, it shows up with a nice big "You must be 18 years or older to access this site" and down below it explains exactly why that is. Well, there goes the idea of our own domain name.
Well, of course you wouldn't call them "smart" and "stupid." They'd be called "Honors" and "Regular," or "Advanced" and "Normal," or some such euphemism. I mean, they did not name "The Venture Center" "The Center for Juvenile Delinquents" or "The School for Young Criminals." Now that would be a self-fulfilling prophecy. And also, you don't see parents suing for kids who aren't in advanced reading and math, do you? All I meant was for them to have a logical extention of the so-called "advanced" program to where it starts for all classes (except classes such as PE, of course) at an earlier grade.
Hey, Laurel, are you planning on stopping by the high school anytime?
This is interesting. Some scientists decided to save some money by making their supercomputer out of PS2s instead of the traditional type. $50000 dollars of PS2s. I'll bet you could play some killer DDR on that!
No, Felix, that's not what I mean. People shouldn't be forced to make such a choice as that so early on in life. What I mean is that the stupid ones should not have to bog the smart ones down. Every year or so, the students should be re-evaluted to see if they should be on Smart level or Stupid level.
I hear thunder outside. I am tired. I will not play ultimate now. 80 sounds good. I want to play 80. Give me 80. Call me. You know my number. Goodbye.
Hey, I was looking at science slashdot, which happens to be a pretty cool place for up-to-the-minute science news, and there are a few pretty cool articles it links to.
Here's something interesting. At our old junior high, now the "College Station Middle School," a couple of 14-year-olds were arrested for possession of a semi-automatic on the school campus. The police traced the gun to an 18-year-old who allegedly sold them the gun.[full story] The interesting part is, in junior high, I'm pretty sure I had at least one class with this kid.
I really think they should have more "advanced" or "honors" courses sooner. I think that I was in his 8th grade science class. That class had some pretty bad people in it. I remember that one kid in the class had Down's Syndrome. What made it really sad is that some of the other kids picked on him a lot, and he threw tantrums. The teacher couldn't handle any of it. The only activity I can remember doing in there was a crossword puzzle; the reason I remember it was that while we were working on it, another kid attempted to bribe me in an attempt to copy off of my paper. They really need to separate kids like that from kids like us at a younger level.

Hey, Adam, I tried calling but your phone is busy, so I figured you might be online. I can't come over because I'm still kinda sick (99.4 fever and runny nose) even though I'm not feeling too bad. It appears to be just another case of the classic cold. Unless it's SARS. Even though it's not severe. So it can't be. Hrmm.
It's a strong bad thing, like "MSG'd!!" and "Children!!" and "Sworded!!" and so forth. It's from Teen Girl Squad, a hilarious flash animation thing at homestarrunner.com
New poll, guys... it's on the left. Now it's integrated. It's especially for Laurel and Debbie.

The results of our last poll:
How awesome is our blog?

Awesome: 1 (10%)
Really Awesome: 0 (0%)
Super-Awesome: 1 (10%)
