Silly me

My random train of thought led me to thinking about how I believe that assigning excessive monetary value to personal injury in the context of lawsuits is wrong. I thought,

Instead of an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth:
for an eye, we have an arm and a leg.

Ahh, very clever, no? This can be extended even further:
"An eye for eye only ends up making the whole world blind." - Gandhi
"An arm and a leg for an eye only ends up making people roll around on their appendage-less torso remarking, 'it's only a flesh wound!'" - Seth "Mahatma" Johnson
