Okay, in case anyone didn't fully understand, the blog wasn't letting anyone post for the past week. Yesterday they finally posted a message saying that their service was being upgraded. I upgraded, and boom. So, anyways, about being here in DC for science bowl. Hmm. Well, competition starts tomorrow at 12 eastern. Today we just did seminars. One was about the beginning of the universe (I sem-slept through it; it was a very odd experience), one was about computer algorithms and origami, and the last and coolest was kind of a hands-on thing about various physics stuff (plasma, magnets, Van de Graf generators). Meredith, Michael, and I did the VdG thing. Meredith and Michael's hair was standing on end, but I had a special treat. There were some interesting coronal discharges between my glasses -- and my face! Then I put it in my lower pants pocket, but that wasn't so smart either. :-) It didn't really hurt though.
